AHHHH!!

Sorry that I've been gone for awhile. As you know, an earthquake recently hit here, but i guess mother nature hadn't made her point yet. A few days later hurricane Irene made a little visit. I didn't think the hurricane had hit very badly, around here, but apparently 500 trees did, because that's about how many fell down in my surrounding area. Which, as you guessed caused my (and around 350,000 other households') power to be out. Mine has been out since Saturday, and although the power is coming back in places around me, I think it probably won't be until the Saturday coming up for me to have power again.

If you're wondering how I'm writing this, I made a trip to the public library near me, which, I am thankful, has power. So no, this not a regular post, just a quick little writing to say; no I'm not dead, sick, missing, busy, or, surprisingly, I'm not even "just too lazy" to post. I actually have a real excuse this time, I have no electricity!

So I guess this is it for a little while, but don't quit me yet! I'll be back as soon as my power gets cut back on, so check back soon!

OOTD- Casual in Green

Hi guys! I have an outfit post for you all today, it's just a casual outfit that I wore out and about a few days ago. I hope you like it!

I really love this first picture! :)

Shirt- JcPenney's, Shorts- Wal-mart, Gray Cami- Old Navy, Shoes- Rack Room Shoes, Headband- Target, Leaf Bracelet- Aldo, Bangle- American Eagle. And, yes I do sit on top of washing machines to get a full body pic. (:

Yep, it's true, I even look good from the side. ;D

These sandals are a great item in my wardrobe! They definitely help to make certain outfits come together nicely.

I adore this bracelet! These days I've really been into jewelery with leaves and other things of that nature.

Pretty snazzy headband, huh?? It's like a whole bunch of little pyramid thingys, if you want to be technical. ;)

I forgot to take a picture of the crochet details. The back is sort of similar to the front of this Asos shirt HERE, except the crocheted part on my shirt is a little bit more of a semi-circle or a "u" shape, versus the Asos one having more of a "V" shape, and on my shirt the crochet is not as see-through. There is also some crocheting done below the sleeves of my shirt(you can kind of see it in the picture I took with the side view).

Hope you enjoyed this post! More to come soon!

My Obsessions: Navy & Gold

Okay guys, so I have a new obsession post for you all, and it's on the colors navy and gold, specifically, when they are together. I've actually have had this obsession for about two months. I adore the thought of navy and other dark blues combined with golds and shades of deep yellows. I just love the way those colors compliment each other! Those colors together can have a way of being elegant, edgy, and everything in-between.

Speaking of in-between, today, at my ripe age of 13, I experienced my first earthquake! The earthquake reached a 5.9 on the Richter Scale, and hit in many areas around the east coast of the United States. Luckily for me, the epicenter was right here in good 'ol Virginia. Now what does that have to do with being in-between?? Well, I'm glad you asked, because, quite frankly, I was in-between thinking, "Whoa, that was so epically cool!" and having a heart attack.

Well I guess that's enough with the earthquake talk, back to the navy and gold. I've made two sets: a set showing a few items that happen to be navy and/or gold, and then there is a set showcasing four chic outfits that don the navy and gold colors.

"Midnight in Paris" Inspired Fashion

About a month ago I saw the movie Midnight in Paris. It was a great movie, and although I don't want to give away too much information about it(in case someone is planning to see it), I will say, that during the movie you will see some things that involve the 1920's, including fashion. So anyway, while watching the movie I got to really appreciate some of the 1920's fashion, that you get to see. Flapper dresses, t-strap shoes, lots of embellished accessories, and all the other beautiful things from that time. I even got to learn a little history about the artists, of all kinds, from that era.

Later that night, I knew I would eventually do a post on the fashion from that movie, but I'm just now getting around to it. So I have a little set for you guys, that shows a view pictures from the movie and an outfit I created that was inspired by "Midnight in Paris" and the just by the 1920's in general. And sorry this set is a little sloppy looking, I just wanted to make sure the pictures were showcased too.

It's just like a mini version of Polyvore, where you all can make sets(like I do ;D), with the items that I have added to the Mini Editor. I would love to see the work you guys can do, and outfits you all would make! I've already made two little sets on there, so you can check them out by clicking the "Gallery" button at the top of the editor. So everyone, get those fashion brains going and make some outfits on my Mini Editor! :)

Hippe Shades: Peace, Love, and Tacky??? :)

As you guys know(from my last post), I went out of town(well, actually, I went out of state) this past weekend. I went to South Carolina, so naturally, I had to make a stop at South of the Border. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's basically just a little tourist stop off of interstate 95 that is at the border of North Carolina and South Carolina, and there's just a bunch of little gift shops and restaurants, and stuff like that. If you want more info on it, you can click here.

So anyway, while there, I we decided to stop at one of the little shops(it was called Pantry or something like that) and get some souvenirs. We looked around a bit and I ended up getting these pair of hippie shades, that have the peace signs across the frames. To be honest, I guess it's basically just a tacky tourist item, but being the girl I am, I couldn't resist getting them(especially when they only cost $3.50!) . Plus, I'm pretty sure that if I paired them with the right outfit, I could totally make a huge fashion statement(well, maybe)!

So anyway, here's a few pics of my new sunglasses, hope you like them :)

Oh, and just so you know, I didn't wear the glasses with the outfit I have on the pics, it's just what I was wearing at the time.

Sunglasses- $3.50, The Feeling I Got From Buying Them- Priceless :)

It's really weird that they sunshades actually look good on me. Usually circular sunglasses don't look good on my face.

If you're a hippie, and you're happy, clap your hands! *clap, clap* :)

Close-up time!

I love the teal color at the top of the shades!

I like the way they look on top of my head too :)
